Quality Manager
Location: Deeside
Employment Type: Full-time | Permanent
Reporting to: SHEQ Director
Direct Reports: Quality Inspectors and Quality Technician
About ASPLIV
We are looking for an experienced Quality Manager to lead, maintain, and continually improve the Quality Management System for a fast-growing precision engineering and manufacturing business based in Deeside.
Reporting directly to the SHEQ Director, the successful candidate will lead the site quality function, manage and develop the quality team, oversee inspection activities, and ensure quality standards are embedded across all site operations.
The business operates within a highly technical, precision-led engineering environment, supplying specialist manufactured products to customers across global markets. Quality, product conformity, traceability, and continuous improvement are therefore central to its ongoing success.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on Quality Manager who enjoys having the autonomy to drive positive change, strengthen quality systems, and champion a proactive quality culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the site quality team, including Quality Inspectors and the Quality Technician.
- Maintain, review, and continually improve the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.
- Ensure the business remains prepared for certification, surveillance, customer, and internal audits.
- Plan and conduct internal audits, coordinating evidence, and ensuring actions are completed.
- Establish, monitor, and report on quality objectives, risks, trends, and key performance indicators.
- Manage NCRs, product defects, process failures, customer complaints, and supplier quality issues.
- Lead root-cause investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented and reviewed for effectiveness.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, auditors, operational teams, and senior management on quality matters.
- Conduct supplier audits and support supplier performance monitoring.
- Oversee inspection activities, calibration records, traceability, and product conformity documentation.
- Develop and control quality procedures, work instructions, inspection plans, and process documentation.
- Provide practical quality guidance to engineering, manufacturing, and operational teams.
- Promote a positive quality culture and support quality-related training across the business.
- Provide quality input into management reviews, operational meetings, and SHEQ reporting.

Key Skills and Experience
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and Quality Management Systems.
- Experience managing internal and external audits, supplier audits, NCRs, complaints, and corrective actions.
- Previous experience leading Quality Inspectors, Technicians, or an operational quality team.
- Strong understanding of inspection, product conformity, process control, calibration, and traceability.
- Confident conducting investigations and applying root-cause analysis techniques.
- Experience within engineering, precision manufacturing, fabrication, or a similar industrial environment.
- Strong commercial awareness and confidence working with customers and suppliers.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and organizational skills.
- A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to champion quality standards across the site.

A technical qualification within Engineering, Manufacturing, or Quality would be advantageous, alongside an ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor qualification.
Experience within precision engineering, stainless-steel fabrication, CNC machining, welding, or pressure-vessel manufacturing would also be highly desirable.
