Quality Assurance Manager – Commercial Mortgages
£80,000 plus 20% Bonus
My client is a major Financial Services House in Manchester
Key Purpose
The primary purpose of this role is to independently review and assess Commercial Mortgage underwriting files to ensure lending decisions, processes, and documentation meet internal policies, regulatory requirements, and customer outcome standards. The role is responsible for delivering quality assurance across the end-to-end underwriting process, identifying trends, providing feedback, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring robust AML and KYC controls are consistently applied.
Key Accountabilities
- Conduct regular QA reviews of Commercial Mortgage Underwriting files across all product lines
- Review quality and completeness of Credit assessments and supporting documentation
- Support maintenance and enhancement of underwriting procedure and quality framework
- Assess adherence to Underwriting policy, delegated authorities, and lending criteria.
- Complete QA reporting and identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Monitor compliance with AML, KYC, Sanctions screening, source of wealth, and source of funds requirements
- Ensure customer, director, and beneficial ownership verification requirements are completed and evidenced on file
- Provide feedback and coaching to Case Management and Underwriting Teams
- Produce regular MI and QA reports for management.
- Support Internal and External audit activities and regulatory reviews.
- Assist in delivering training on underwriting standards, AML, KYC, and regulatory requirements

Knowledge & Qualifications
- Quality Assurance Experience
- Previous Underwriting experience is preferable (but not essential) within a Financial Services organisation
- Good knowledge of Word and Excel
