Quality Assurance Manager – Specialist Building Envelopes / External Facades
Location: Brighton, East Sussex
Salary: £60,000 – £80,000 per annum + standard benefits package
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
About the Role
On behalf of a leading specialist building envelope and external facades contractor, we are recruiting an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to oversee quality compliance, inspection regimes and sign offs for a landmark construction project based in Brighton.
In this role, you will be the key operational link ensuring that all structural, thermal, and aesthetic envelope systems, ranging from curtain walling and rainscreen cladding to windows and architectural metalwork, are installed to the highest industry standards and compliant with all current building regulations (including the Building Safety Act).
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Management Systems: Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) procedures, inspection & test plans (ITPs), and check-sheets.
- Site Inspections: Conduct regular, detailed visual and technical inspections of ongoing facade installations to identify defects, non-conformances, and workmanship issues early.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure strict compliance with design specifications, manufacturer guidelines, CWCT standards, and relevant UK Building Regulations.
- Handover & Sign-Offs: Lead sign-off processes, handover documentation, O&M manuals, and strict record-keeping through digital QA software (e.g., Field View, Procore, SnagR).
- Supply Chain & Subcontractor Oversight: Work closely with package managers, site teams, and specialist subcontractors to drive a "right first time" culture and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) to resolution.
- Auditing & Reporting: Prepare regular QA/QC dashboard reports for project managers, client representatives, and executive management.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
