Position Title: Quality Assurance Officer (Brunel Medical School and External Examining)

Department/College: Professional Services / Student Journey / Academic and Student Administration

Location: Brunel University of London, Uxbridge Campus

Salary: Grade 6 from: £34,588 to £39,144 inclusive of London Weighting with potential to progress to £41,292 per annum, inclusive of London Weighting, through sustained exceptional contribution (pro-rata if part-time).

Hours: Full-time

Contract Type: Permanent

The Academic and Student Administration Directorate plays a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the University’s academic standards and the student experience. Working collaboratively across Colleges, central services, and external agencies, the Directorate ensures that the University’s frameworks for quality assurance, governance, and regulatory compliance are robust, transparent, and aligned with national and international expectations.

The Directorate supports the full student lifecycle from programme approval and assessment to graduation, ensuring that Brunel’s academic provision meets the standards set by the Office for Students (OfS), the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), and relevant Professional, Statutory, and Regulatory Bodies (PSRBs). The team fosters a culture of continuous enhancement, encouraging innovation, inclusion, and accountability across all areas of academic delivery.

Brunel University London is now recruiting a Quality Assurance Officer (Brunel Medical School and External Examining) to deliver critical administrative processes to ensure the effective delivery of quality assurance processes across the University. The role is split between responsibilities for the Brunel Medical School’s internal and external regulatory and compliance requirements; and delivering taught External Examiner processes institution wide. Working closely with academic and professional services staff, the postholder contributes to the management of quality data, supports key governance and review activities, and delivers an efficient, responsive service to both internal and external stakeholders.

It is anticipated that, in general, 60% of the role will be focused on administration and support for the Brunel Medical School and 40% on taught External Examiner administration, with priorities adjusted during peak periods to meet service requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified administrative professional, ideally with experience of working in a complex administrative role in education. The successful candidate will need to have excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain working relationships with key stakeholders.
