Quality Manager - Greater Manchester
Ready to lead quality in a business where your impact is seen, valued and acted upon?
We're recruiting for an established UK manufacturing organization with over 50 years of industry experience and a reputation as a leading specialist in technical powder coatings and wet paint applications. Operating across critical sectors including Oil & Gas, Water, Infrastructure, Defence and Construction, the business plays a vital role in supporting some of the UK's most important projects.
Adding to its unique culture, the company is majority employee-owned, creating an environment where people are invested in the success of the organisation and empowered to make a difference.
As part of its continued growth and commitment to operational excellence, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Manager to report directly to the Head of H&SQE and take ownership of quality performance across the business.
The Role:
This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership position that combines strategic quality management with a strong presence on the shop floor.
You'll provide oversight of the organisation's ISO 9001 Quality Management System, lead quality improvement initiatives, and support the business on its journey towards ISO 18001 and ISO 45001 accreditation. Working closely with Quality Inspectors and production teams, you'll be instrumental in strengthening processes, driving compliance and embedding a culture of continuous improvement.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
