About the role
As a Shopify Quality Assurance Technician, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our projects meet the highest standards of quality and functionality. You'll be the last line of defence before work reaches clients — reviewing design implementations, testing functionality, and ensuring every build matches the brief and design spec precisely.
You'll work across retainer and project work, collaborating closely with designers, developers, account managers, and clients.

What you'll be doing
Quality assurance of design and development
- Perform thorough QA on design and development tasks to ensure they meet project briefs and client expectations
- Verify all functionalities work correctly and meet specified requirements
- Check that development work matches design specifications precisely
- Document and communicate any discrepancies or issues found during QA

Feedback and communication
- Provide clear, constructive feedback to designers, developers, and stakeholders regarding functionality, design alignment, and overall quality
- Keep project management tools updated with the latest QA statuses and feedback
- Participate in client calls as needed to discuss QA findings or gather additional information
Collaboration
- Work closely with designers and developers to resolve identified issues
- Review task briefs to ensure they are accurate and complete before commencing QA
- Assist in managing assigned tasks to ensure timely completion and adherence to quality standards
- Communicate effectively within our PM system to ensure all findings are well-documented

What we're looking for
You are:
- Detail-obsessed — sloppy or "close enough" doesn't cut it
- A clear communicator who can articulate issues constructively
- Proactive with a can-do approach to work and collaboration
- Organised and able to manage multiple QA tasks across different clients
- Comfortable interacting with clients when needed
You have:
- Minimum 2 years of QA experience within a design and development environment
- Strong knowledge of the Shopify platform
- Proficiency with project management tools and QA processes
- Problem-solving skills — ability to identify issues and suggest practical solutions
- Effective written and spoken communication skills
Working pattern & benefits
- Fully remote role, UK or Europe preferred
- Full-time, 9 AM – 5 PM UK time
- 28 days leave (including bank holidays)
