About the Role
We are looking for a qualified social worker to join our small LADO and Safeguarding in Education Team. Reporting to the Team Manager, the role will be to provide a comprehensive safeguarding service to colleagues working or volunteering in any childcare setting, including schools, pre-schools, nurseries, and any organizations making provision for children.
The role purpose is to strategically manage, develop, organize, and control a professional service area ensuring the delivery of the service meets all Council, professional, and legislative requirements.
This will include the coordination and delivery of child protection & safeguarding training to the sector and to contribute to the working of the Waltham Forest Strategic Partnerships Board and providing reporting and oversight to schools, the Local Authority, and partnership regarding safeguarding issues in schools, including an annual thematic analysis.

Key Responsibilities
- To lead on support and address issues related to the child protection and safeguarding within schools, colleges, and other education environments.
- To work with Governors, Head Teachers, Managing Directors, Trustees, and other staff and providers of services for children, to ensure appropriate policy, procedure, and guidance is implemented.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Qualified Children's Social Worker - minimum 3 years post qualifying experience
- Registered with Social Work England
- Enhanced DBS Certificate
- Experienced in all aspects of Safeguarding Children/Young People
- Good communicator
- Ability to produce well-written analysis based reports/audits
- Understanding of SEND
