We’re searching for a Quality Assurance (QA) Technician to join the Quality & Technical team of a global FMCG manufacturer in Harrogate.
Whether you're an experienced QA professional looking for your next step or a science graduate looking to build a career in food manufacturing, this role offers hands-on experience across microbiology, food safety, quality assurance and manufacturing.
Key Benefits:

- 8 Hour Shift Rota – Including 1 weekend in 3

Suitable for candidates with relevant QA or microbiology experience, or graduates with a related science degree. Must be UK resident with full UK working rights residing within local area.
The Role
Working closely with Quality, Production, and Operations teams, you will carry out a variety of quality assurance tasks across the site, supporting the day-to-day running of the micro lab facility and helping to maintain high standards of food safety, product quality and compliance across a busy manufacturing site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting Food Safety and Quality Systems
- Completing hygiene surveys and QA line audits
- Carry out microbiological testing and sampling
- Maintaining accurate quality records and investigating issues.
- Supporting complaint investigations
- Assisting with internal and external audits
- Carrying out equipment calibrations and laboratory stock checks
- Working with Production and Operations to identify risks and drive improvements

About You:
You may already have experience in a QA, technical, micro lab or food manufacturing role, or you may be a recent graduate looking for an opportunity to apply your scientific knowledge within a supportive commercial setting. Either way, you will bring a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and a genuine commitment to maintaining high standards.
Key Skills & Experience:
- A degree in natural sciences, biological sciences, food science, microbiology or similar.
- Experience in Quality Assurance, microbiology, food manufacturing or a laboratory-based roles.
- Knowledge of HACCP, food safety or quality assurance principles.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent communication skills.
- Organised, proactive and able to prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment.
- A flexible approach to working hours and shift patterns.
- A driving licence and access to own transport would be advantageous due to occasional off-site borehole visits.
