QA Testing Engineer
Salary: £45,000–£50,000
Location: UK

We are currently representing a global technology business that develops software solutions designed to create safer, more productive and effective digital environments.
Working across education and wider organisations internationally, the business provides technology covering areas such as online safety, remote access, web filtering, monitoring and digital learning. Their products are used by schools, organisations and businesses across more than 90 countries.
Due to continued growth, they are looking for a QA Testing Engineer to join their Engineering team and play an important role in ensuring the quality and reliability of their software products.
About the Role
This is a hands-on QA role focused on testing software, identifying issues and working closely with developers to ensure products meet the required standards.
You will be involved throughout the software development process, creating and carrying out tests, reporting bugs, supporting test environments and helping improve overall test coverage.

Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with developers and other teams to understand product requirements.
- Create and maintain test cases based on requirements and user stories.
- Carry out software testing across web applications and supported platforms.
- Identify, document and track software defects.
- Work with developers to investigate and resolve bugs.
- Retest fixes to make sure issues have been successfully resolved.
- Configure and maintain test environments.
- Carry out performance and load testing.
- Identify gaps in test coverage and help improve the overall testing process.
- Support the tracking and reporting of QA and testing metrics.
- Contribute to QA documentation and best practices.
- Ensure testing is completed effectively throughout the software development lifecycle.
About You
- 3+ years' experience in software QA/testing.
- Experience testing web applications.
- Experience testing across multiple platforms including Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and Chromebooks.
- Good understanding of software testing processes and methodologies.
- Understanding of networking, internet security and Linux command-line tools.
- Experience using Jira, Azure DevOps or similar tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working independently as well as as part of a wider development team.
- A genuine interest in software quality and continuous improvement.

Desirable
- Experience within EdTech, e-learning or software development.
- Knowledge of LDAP, Active Directory, Google Groups, DNS or Group Policy.
- Knowledge of VMware or Proxmox.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Experience with test automation.
