Mid-Level QA Engineer
Leeds City Centre (Hybrid)
Up to £45,000
We're working with a growing technology consultancy based in Leeds City Centre, looking to add a Mid-Level QA Engineer to their team.
This is a genuine opportunity to join a business where testing isn't siloed away from development. You'll sit alongside software engineers and delivery managers as one team, working across the full software development lifecycle on multiple varied and challenging projects, from acceptance criteria through to go live.
The role:
- Build a strong working understanding of a broad range of bespoke software products
- Work with clients and colleagues to define clear, testable acceptance criteria
- Plan, create and maintain automated tests, with a strong focus on Playwright
- Support testing across UI and API layers
- Work within Agile delivery teams, contributing to sprint planning and ceremonies
- Provide support and triage feedback during UAT
- Take ownership of your area of testing with real autonomy, not just following a script

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
