QA/Test Analyst - IT Core Systems & Digital
We are looking for an experienced QA/Test Analyst to join our IT Core Systems & Digital team on a full-time fixed-term basis from our Support Centre in Speke, Liverpool.
This role will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and stability of applications, integrations, and business processes delivered across key business functions including Retail, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, and Digital.
Working closely with Business Analysts, Architects, Developers, Integrators, and business stakeholders, you will plan, execute, and report on testing activities to ensure solutions meet business requirements, acceptance criteria, and quality standards before release. You'll play a key role in supporting B&M's ongoing technology transformation by championing quality throughout the software delivery lifecycle and helping deliver reliable, business-ready solutions.
In This Role, You Will Be Responsible For:
- Creating, maintaining, and executing test scenarios, test cases, and test scripts based on business and technical requirements.
- Performing functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end testing activities.
- Reviewing requirements and user stories to ensure appropriate test coverage and validation.
- Identifying, recording, and managing defects through to successful resolution.
- Supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities and working with business stakeholders throughout the testing lifecycle.
- Testing integrations, interfaces, and data flows between business systems.
- Providing clear reporting on testing progress, quality metrics, risks, and issues.
- Supporting release readiness activities and providing input into go-live decisions.
- Promoting testing best practices and continuous improvement across the delivery lifecycle.
- Contributing to the development of testing processes, standards, and documentation.
- Supporting the adoption of test automation and modern testing approaches where appropriate.

The Skills and Experience You'll Bring:
- Experience working in a Software Testing, Quality Assurance, or Test Analyst role.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience creating and executing test cases, test scripts, and test plans.
- Experience using defect management and tracking tools such as Jira.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing and working closely with business stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of integration and API testing would be beneficial.
- Exposure to test automation tools and frameworks would be advantageous.
- ISTQB Foundation Certification or a similar testing qualification would be beneficial.
