QA / QC Engineer | £70,000 - £80,000 | North East | Main Contractor (Civil Engineering) | Perm
We are working with an established specialist civil engineering contractor that is continuing to grow its presence across the North-East and is looking to add an experienced QA / QC Engineer to its project team.
The business delivers major civil engineering packages across some of the UK and Europe’s most technically demanding projects, with particular expertise across groundworks, piling, reinforced concrete, substructures, utilities, and infrastructure.
Role Overview
This is a site-based role where you’ll take responsibility for ensuring works are delivered to the required quality standards, working closely with the engineering and construction teams throughout delivery.

Key Responsibilities
- Managing and maintaining QA/QC documentation and project quality records
- Preparing and reviewing ITPs, inspection records, and quality plans
- Carrying out inspections across piling, groundworks, concrete, and associated civil engineering works
- Monitoring works against drawings, specifications, and project requirements
- Managing NCRs and ensuring corrective actions are closed out properly
- Maintaining records for testing, materials, concrete, and completed works
- Working closely with Site Engineers, Project Managers, and subcontractors to identify and resolve quality issues
- Supporting project handover and compilation of final quality documentation
Requirements
We are looking for someone with a strong civil engineering background, ideally gained with a specialist civils, groundworks, or concrete contractor.

- Experience working on data centres, substations, or other major mission-critical/energy infrastructure projects would be particularly beneficial, although strong QA/QC experience across substantial civil engineering packages is the priority.
- Must be based in, or within a sensible travelling distance of, the North East, with this being a predominantly site-based position.
