The Role
The Quality Auditor will own the day-to-day integrity and continual improvement of the organisation's integrated management system.
The role ensures that ISO standards remain effective and audit-ready, suppliers are approved and monitored through a proportionate risk-based process, and all accreditations and professional memberships are maintained and renewed without lapse.
Location – UK Remote
Salary – depending on experience
Duties include:
- Maintain and continually improve the integrated management system in line with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, and support ISO 27001 requirements where applicable.
- Lead organisational readiness for certification, surveillance and recertification audits, coordinating evidence and stakeholders and acting as a contact for certification bodies.
- Coordinate the onboarding of new clients, ensuring all required information, documentation and approvals are obtained.
- Plan each renewal from requirement review through evidence collection, internal approval, submission, payment coordination and confirmation, maintaining adequate lead time to prevent lapse.
- Maintain accurate certificates, correspondence, assessment reports, evidence packs, membership details, portal access ownership and conditions of approval.
- Act as the coordinating contact for accreditation bodies, certification providers and professional organisations, ensuring requests and assessment actions are answered within agreed timescales.
- Assess changes to schemes, codes, membership rules and evidence requirements, communicate implications and coordinate business responses.
- Lead preparation for external assessments and renewals; manage non-conformities, observations and improvement actions through to verified closure.

Skills and Experience Required
- Substantial experience in a quality, assurance or compliance role, including responsibility for maintaining a certified management system.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and practical experience with at least two of ISO 14001, ISO 45001
- Experience of planning and conducting internal audits, supporting external audits and managing findings through to effective closure.
- Experience of supplier or subcontractor due diligence, approval, risk assessment, ongoing monitoring and performance management.
- Experience of managing accreditation, certification or professional membership applications and renewals against fixed deadlines.
- Strong document control, evidence management and record keeping capability, with close attention to accuracy and confidentiality.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret requirements, identify systemic risk and recommend proportionate action.
- Clear written and verbal communication, including concise audit reporting and confident engagement with senior stakeholders and external assessors.
- Ability to organise competing priorities, maintain forward plans and deliver reliably with limited supervision.
- Competence with Microsoft 365 applications and quality-management or document-management systems

Desirable
- Recognised internal auditor or lead auditor qualification.
- Working knowledge of ISO 27001.
- Formal qualification in quality management, health and safety, environmental management, information security or a related discipline.
- Experience managing an integrated management system across several ISO standards.
- Experience in a regulated, professional-services or multi-site environment.
- Membership of a relevant professional body
