Quality Co-ordinator
We are looking for a Quality Co-ordinator to join our Quality Assurance team in a part-time role (24 hours per week), based in Wakefield, UK.

Purpose of the Role
As part of the Quality Management team, the Quality Co-ordinator will be responsible for maintaining and developing the Quality Management Systems at our Barentz-owned warehouse and ensuring continued compliance with ISO 9001, HACCP, UFAS, and Good Distribution Practice (GDP) standards for pharmaceutical excipients across the Reigate, Wakefield, and Dublin sites. This position plays a key role in supporting operational excellence and quality and regulatory compliance within the UK and Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with ISO 9001, HACCP, and IPEC GDP (excipients) standards.
- Ensure full compliance with UFAS at the Reigate and Wakefield sites.
- Act as the primary contact for all quality-related activities, liaising with internal teams including Sales, Supply Chain, and local management.
- Serve as the main point of contact for certification bodies.
- Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of UK Organic certification.
- Prepare and manage audits, inspections, certification renewals, and associated documentation.
- Maintain a high level of audit readiness across all relevant certifications.
- Maintain relevant Trading Standards registrations and licences and coordinate required renewals and updates.
- Work closely with warehouse operations and third-party logistics providers to uphold and continuously improve quality standards.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) tailored to warehousing and logistics processes at the Wakefield site.
- Deliver quality-related training for new starters and existing team members.
- Conduct and follow up on internal and external audits, manage non-conformities, implement CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions), and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Act as QA signatory for non-conformities and related documentation.
- Collaborate with EMEA and local business units to align and harmonise quality standards across sites in the UK and Ireland.

Experience and Qualifications
- Previous experience in quality assurance or compliance, preferably within warehousing, distribution, food, feed, or pharmaceutical ingredients.
- Practical experience with ISO 9001, HACCP, audits, CAPA, non-conformities, and document control.
- Ability to work independently, maintain routine on-site quality activities, and coordinate actions across multiple locations.
- Experience with UFAS, IPEC GDP, or Organic certification requirements would be advantageous.
