Quality & Commissioning Manager | Solar PV & BESS | UK
I'm working with a growing renewable energy business looking to appoint a Quality & Commissioning Manager to oversee quality, testing and commissioning across a portfolio of UK solar PV and BESS projects.
The initial sites you'll be working on will be in Norfolk & Bedford, and the business have a strong portfolio of projects which will take your scope of work beyond 2030.
This is a hands-on, multi-site technical role for someone who can operate independently on site, make technical decisions and take ownership of quality and commissioning through to successful handover.
The role will involve:
- Managing quality and commissioning across multiple solar PV and BESS sites
- Carrying out inspections and identifying and closing out non-conformances
- Developing and managing testing and commissioning plans
- Overseeing electrical and performance testing
- Leading BESS commissioning, including PPC/EMS integration and grid compliance
- Working closely with OEMs, subcontractors, DNOs/IDNOs and internal engineering and construction teams
- Reviewing ITPs, method statements, FAT/SAT documentation and as-built records
- Supporting energisation, practical completion and handover to O&M / Asset Management
- Acting as a technical authority on site-level quality and commissioning matters

Looking for:
- Proven experience in quality, testing and commissioning within renewable energy
- Strong technical understanding of solar PV and/or BESS
- Experience working across multiple construction sites
- Experience dealing with contractors, OEMs and network operators
- Strong understanding of electrical testing, commissioning and grid integration
- An engineering background or equivalent practical experience

SAP authorisation, 18th Edition, Test Engineer/Jointer certification, NEBOSH/SMSTS and experience with SCADA systems would all be advantageous, but are not essential.
The role is primarily site-based across the UK, with some international travel required.
