Our client is a well-established engineering and electronics organisation specialising in the supply and distribution of electronic components and value-added technical solutions. Supporting a range of strategic markets, they have built a strong reputation for technical expertise, customer service, quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
They are seeking a Quality & Compliance Manager to join their team, based in Newbury. This is a key role responsible for owning the Group's Quality and Environmental Management Systems, with a particular focus on ISO 14001, while leading compliance activities and supporting the business as it expands into new and regulated markets.
What you will be doing as a Quality & Compliance Manager, in Newbury:
- Own and maintain the Environmental Management System, ensuring continued ISO 14001 certification
- Maintain the Quality Management Systems in line with ISO 9001 and AS9120
- Lead the implementation of additional certifications to support entry into markets such as Defence and Medical
- Conduct and oversee internal audits, identifying non-conformities and driving corrective actions through to completion
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the business
- Support customer complaints, returns and 8D investigations
- Conduct supplier and subcontractor audits where required
- Monitor changes to environmental legislation, ISO standards and regulatory requirements through effective horizon scanning
- Review QMS and EMS documentation to ensure it remains compliant, effective and fit for purpose
- Produce compliance briefings and provide training on QMS, EMS and continuous improvement
- Produce KPI reports, identifying trends, issues and opportunities for improvement

The skills needed:

- Strong experience maintaining an ISO 14001 Environmental Management System
- Experience maintaining a QMS to ISO 9001 and/or AS9120
- Experience with internal auditing, corrective actions and continuous improvement
- Ability to research and monitor changes to environmental legislation, ISO standards and regulatory requirements
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of quality and compliance activities
- Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
- Understanding of electronics and batteries would be advantageous but is not essential
