As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a Quality & Compliance Manager to take ownership of our management systems and regulatory compliance, based at our UK offices in Buckingham. This is a standalone role with real breadth. You will own our quality and environmental management systems, run the internal audit programme including the audit of our UKAS-accredited calibration laboratory, and manage the regulatory, customer and supplier compliance obligations that come with selling precision technology into more than 100 countries.
Responsibilities and Duties
Management Systems
- Own and maintain the quality management system, including the quality manual, documented procedures and management review.
- Own and maintain the environmental management system, including environmental aspects, compliance obligations and objectives.
- Keep the management systems aligned with the current editions of the standards we work to, planning and delivering the changes required as those standards are revised.
- Maintain the controlled document register, keeping documents current, reviewed and accessible.
Audit and Corrective Action
- Plan and deliver the internal audit programme across the quality and environmental management systems.
- Carry out the internal audit of our accredited calibration laboratory, including witnessed measurements and product traceability audits.
- Host external certification and accreditation assessments and coordinate the response to any findings.
- Own the corrective action process, from raising a finding through root cause analysis to verifying that the action taken has worked.
- Report audit results, findings and quality trends to senior management and into management review.

Regulatory and Product Compliance
- Maintain product conformity records, including technical files and declarations of conformity, working with Engineering on the technical content.
- Manage substance and materials obligations, including restricted substances, chemicals and conflict minerals, and the supplier declarations that support them.
- Manage producer obligations for packaging, electrical waste and batteries across the UK and export markets, including registrations and returns.
- Monitor changes to relevant standards and regulations, assess the impact on Racelogic, and plan the work needed to stay compliant.
Customer and Supplier Assurance
- Complete customer compliance, sustainability and due diligence questionnaires to deadline, and maintain a reusable evidence base so recurring requests can be answered consistently.
- Manage supplier compliance and sustainability questionnaires, and support supplier quality feedback alongside Purchasing.
- Maintain payment card and cyber security compliance obligations, including annual assessments and routine scanning.
Health and Safety
- Own the company risk assessment programme, including the framework, schedule and review cycle.
- Maintain health and safety policy and the legal register, lead incident investigation and root cause analysis, and report performance to management.
- Audit health and safety arrangements across the business, including those delivered day to day by the facilities team.
About You
- Experience owning or maintaining a certified management system in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- A qualified internal auditor, holding recognised internal auditor certification for ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, with practical auditing experience against both.
- A clear understanding of the difference between certification and accreditation, and familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025; internal auditor certification for ISO/IEC 17025 is desirable and training will be supported.
- Working knowledge of product regulatory compliance for electronic products, including conformity marking, technical files and restricted substances such as RoHS and REACH.
- Experience completing customer and supplier compliance, sustainability or due diligence questionnaires.
- Sound understanding of health and safety responsibilities, including risk assessment; IOSH or NEBOSH certification is desirable.
- Confident working independently, planning your own programme of work, and holding others to account for actions they own, including at senior level.
- Well organised, with the ability to manage a recurring compliance calendar alongside longer-term projects.
- Membership of a recognised quality body, such as the Chartered Quality Institute, is desirable.
- An ability to listen effectively and adjust communication style and method for various situations as appropriate.
- A flexible approach to work, with a willingness to adapt to changing priorities.
