The Role
To support the UK Compliance Director in the deployment of the AUK compliance strategy including the minimisation of regulatory risk and enhancement of quality. The role will support the compliance and integration of the East Region (currently Ensors LLP), as well as selected future M&A transactions and co-ordination and support of quality reviews within those businesses. The senior manager will support the central compliance function in its wider CPD, DPB and wider quality and risk work from a practice assurance perspective. The senior manager will have a pragmatic approach to delivery of compliance activities, along with an ability to lead cross-regional and service line activities where required. Awareness of and practical experience in the areas of quality review and the ICAEWs revised CPD requirements are a pre requisite with good working knowledge of DPB regulations ideal.

Key Accountabilities
- Support the UK compliance director in the continual development and delivery of the compliance strategy
- Support the mitigation of risk and enhancement of quality across the business.
- Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders in the achievement of the key priority of enhancing quality and risk management
- Drive consistency in use of systems and processes and delivery of practice quality
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify compliance development areas.
- Provide training and support to our people on compliance-related matters.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure timely reporting and communication.
- Investigate and resolve compliance matters and day to day queries
- Keep up-to-date with changes in legislation and ensure the practice adapts accordingly.
- Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management
- Ad hoc project work

Skills & Experience
- Sound understanding of Regulatory Bodies within an accountancy practice and their requirements
- A proactive problem solver, self motivated with ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Experience in FCA / ICAEW /ICAS /ACCA / CAI regulated firm
- Strong communication and advisory skills – to disseminate complex requirements to business in understandable way
- Honed organisational skills together with an analytical approach to challenges
- Ability to influence/persuade/negotiate at all levels of the business including Team peers
- Project management skills / ability to deliver to deadlines
- Comfortable in a data enabled environment
- Experience in Audit and ABAS or equivalent service lines.
