About The Role
This Quality Conformance Engineer role in Sheffield supports a precision engineering and manufacturing business serving global export markets. Working full time under the Quality Manager, the post-holder prepares and audits production and engineering documentation, alongside certification records, for submission to customers and third parties. Responsibilities include interpreting technical specifications and order requirements to confirm products meet regulatory standards, and acting as an approved release signatory for product certification and testing. Candidates should bring prior experience as a Certification or Conformance Engineer, strong attention to detail, and familiarity with highly regulated manufacturing settings. The position offers £35,000 to £40,000 annually, plus benefits.

Quality Conformance Engineer (Technical Document Controller)
Salary: £35-40,000 + benefits
Location: Sheffield
Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will primarily be responsible for the preparation and auditing of accurate production and engineering documentation and certification data for third party and customer submission interpretation to ensure products comply with customer and regulatory requirements from customer orders and technical specification. The role will also assume responsibility as an approved release signatory to certify product, testing, third party processes and material is compliant before despatch to customers.

Duties
- Prepare accurate engineering documentation and certification data for third party and customer submission.
- Ensure that supplier products and services conform with contract and regulatory requirements.
- Support contract review process to determine document and certification standards.
- Continuous monitoring of the manufacturing processes by audits, statistical analysis or any other relevant technique to support continuous improvement.
- Implement and maintain document control process and practices utilising new MES software.
Experience
Applications are sought from experienced Technical Document Controllers, Conformance Engineers, Compliance Engineers or Quality Assurance Engineers who can demonstrate a high degree of awareness of accurate information gathering and audit processes for safety critical highly regulatory manufacturing environments.
- Experience of quality process auditing, documentation / compliance for highly regulated engineering & manufacturing industries eg: aerospace, defence, nuclear, oil & gas sectors
- Ability to interpret Customer specifications and technical drawings
- High level of integrity and responsibility for actions taken.
- Methodical, organised and detail orientated.
- Highly IT literate

In addition the business is investing in new IT / MES software system to replace the current paper based system, so it is anticipated that you will be instrumental in the success of this system and develop your career as a result.
