Atlassian Williams F1 Team Industrial Placement
At Atlassian Williams F1 Team, our Industrial Placement gives ambitious students 12 months inside Formula 1. You’ll take on real responsibility with projects that shape the future car and our business. Grow with a cohort from day one, then head back to university with experience you can apply immediately. About the Role
This 12-month industrial placement offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both Quality and Continuous Improvement functions within a high-performance engineering environment. The role is designed to support the improvement of right-first-time manufacture and support strategic transformation initiatives and embed a culture of operational excellence across Williams F1 Team.
Quality Assurance (6 months)
- Lead and support improvement projects to enhance standard operating procedures.
- Conduct root cause analysis and lead investigations across operational areas (e.g., Composite, Metallic, ADM Manufacture).
- Champion quality awareness and right-first-time culture across departments.
- Support onboarding and training programmes to promote problem-solving and quality conversations.
- Demonstrate and promote performance excellence behaviours throughout the business.
- Deliver strategic quality projects aimed at embedding quality practices across the organisation.
Continuous Improvement (6 months)

- Participate in Lean health checks, workplace assessment/benchmarking and time & motion studies.
- Recommend changes to eliminate waste and improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with CI and QE teams to ensure standardised learning from root cause analysis.
- Support data-driven decision-making and ensure robust data capture for improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to the design and delivery of training initiatives that support continuous improvement methodologies and tools.
- Support cultural transformation by promoting a mindset of operational excellence across teams.
- Assist in change management activities to ensure successful adoption of improvement initiatives, including stakeholder engagement, communication planning, and resistance management.

Qualifications
What we are looking for:
- You are currently studying for a degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related field.
- You are self-aware, resilient, optimistic, and open to change.
- You can demonstrate integrity, openness, and a collaborative working style.
- You have an understanding of manufacturing and operational processes.
- You can work effectively in a dynamic and diverse environment.
- You possess strong planning, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- You can work independently and take initiative.
