About the Role
Wychem, an Ascensus Specialties Company, is announcing an opening for a Quality Control (QC) Analyst. As part of a fast-paced analytical laboratory, the QC Analyst ensures compliance with client and company specifications by performing analyses of raw materials, intermediates, and final products. This role supports production workflows, R&D projects, and assists the Quality Control Lead in method reviews, documentation, and equipment troubleshooting, contributing directly to the company’s growth.
Responsibilities
The QC Analyst plays a pivotal role in:
- Conducting a wide range of analyses, including:
- Gas Chromatography (GC)
- High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)
- Karl Fischer Titrations (KF)
- Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR)

Maintaining meticulous records of test results, observations, and deviations per company procedures and industry standards.

Collaborating with the QC Lead, production teams, and researchers to support new product development.

Troubleshooting quality issues, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions.

Participating in method improvement, validation, and enhancement of efficiency and quality.
Skills & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Education & Experience: Degree in Organic or Analytical Chemistry preferred with 1–2 years of relevant experience (education may substitute experience on a year-for-year basis).
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with GC, HPLC, FTIR, KF, and titration techniques.
- Safety & Compliance: Knowledge of QC systems (e.g., ISO 9001:2015) and handling hazardous chemicals.
- Soft Skills: Strong prioritisation, time management, and ability to manage pressure under shifting workloads.
- Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience: 3–5 years in Quality Control, ideally in fine chemical or pharma manufacturing.
- Instrumentation: Proficient operation and maintenance of GC, HPLC, KF, FTIR, titrations, and balances.
- Troubleshooting: Ability to maintain, diagnose, and repair GCs, HPLCs, and gas generation systems.
- Leadership: Demonstrated prioritisation and time management in high-pressure settings.
