Pay: From £12.71 per hour

Position: Quality Controller

Reports To: Assistant Technical Manager (if absent, to TM)

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine audits and verification tasks including GMP audits, fabrication audits, glass and hard plastic audits, calibration checks, and in-line checks.
  • Coaching and training of the operation team to ensure quality and food safety standards are maintained. Providing feedback to the management team on processes and procedures as part of the continuous improvement process.
  • Identification, investigation, and reporting of non-conformances and verification that corrective actions are implemented within agreed timescales.
  • Conduct routine traceability studies including mass balance checks.
  • Responsible for the collection of micro samples, including water samples, swabs, and product samples, and registering with the requisite testing lab.
  • Support product development trials where required.
  • Participate in GMP, HACCP, and taste panel meetings.
  • Any other duties as required in line with business requirements.

Skills; Qualifications & Experience required:

  • Experience of working in a compliance role within a food environment.
  • Basic understanding of HACCP and GMP principles.
  • Excellent communication skills (Written and Verbal).
  • Ability to work well as an individual and in a team environment.
  • Self-driven and motivated with excellent attention to detail.
  • An eagerness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Food Safety qualification (Level 2).

  • HACCP qualifications (Level 2).
  • Internal Auditor Training.
  • Knowledge of BRC and IFS standards are desirable.
