Join us as an Quality Control Engineer for Floplast in Sittingbourne

FloPlast are a leading manufacturer of plastic building and plumbing systems to the UK construction sector. Specialising in Roofline products (such as Rainwater systems and PVC-UE Cellular Foam Fascia, Soffit & Cladding systems), as well as an extensive range of Waste, Soil, Underground Drainage and Hot & Cold plumbing systems.

About the role

Reporting to the Quality Control Manager, you will be responsible for the implementation of, and adherence to, all Company and factory control procedures to ensure compliance with all statutory requirements of Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality.

This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm with a daily unpaid break of 30 minutes (divided into one 10-minute break and one 20-minute break).

Key Responsibilities and Duties

The responsibilities and main duties for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform technical validation of products, raw materials, components, and traded goods, including reading technical drawings and TDS.
  • Analyse data to identify trends and issues.
  • Create and maintain testing sheets and inspections SOPs.
  • Support root-cause investigations using problem solving tools.
  • Maintain and improve housekeeping in the Quality lab (5S).
  • Ensure all measuring and testing equipment is maintained and calibrated.
  • Reporting of all incidents or accidents through the correct channel.

About you

You'll be technically minded and have good experience working as part of a quality team in a manufacturing or testing laboratory environment.

You'll have / be:

  • Strong understanding of inspection, testing and quality control methodologies.
  • The ability to read and interpret technical information (technical drawing and specification).
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong communication and reporting abilities. Capability to work as part of a team and/or on own initiative and under pressure.
  • IT literate.

Desirable Skills / Experience Qualifications:

  • CMM measurement.
  • 6 sigma.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and industry standards.
