The role
You will inspect and validate precision machined components, ensuring parts meet engineering drawings, specifications and customer requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out in-process and final inspection using precision measuring equipment.
- Interpreting engineering drawings, tolerances and GD&T requirements.
- Preparing and completing First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and supporting PPAP submissions.
- Recording inspection results and entering quality data accurately.
- Identifying and reporting non-conforming parts, working with Engineering and Production to resolve issues.
- Maintaining clear inspection records and component traceability.
Essential experience and skills
- At least five years’ experience inspecting precision machined components.
- Practical FAIR and PPAP experience—both are essential.
- Confident reading engineering drawings and checking close-tolerance components.
- Competent using micrometers, verniers, gauges and other precision inspection equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail, with a strong focus on accurate data entry and documentation.
- A methodical approach and the confidence to flag anything that does not meet specification.

Desirable, but not essential
- Aerospace inspection experience, including AS9102 FAIR requirements.
- Experience in use of High QA software.
- Experience inspecting gears, splines and shafts.
