We are expanding our talented team and are looking for a Quality Control Inspector to join us at our Coatbridge Location. This is your opportunity to play a key role in our growth and contribute to our reputation for precision, reliability, and excellence.
We are seeking a precise and detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to join our manufacturing team. As a partner in precision engineering across the Oil & Gas, Defence, and Renewables sectors, we prioritise accuracy, reliability, and full traceability in all our outputs. The successful candidate will play a critical role in verifying that our high-integrity components meet stringent client specifications by utilizing advanced metrology, including our Aberlink Azimuth CMM, and digital reporting tools.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Perform comprehensive visual and dimensional inspections on raw materials and finished goods using manual measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, etc.) and the Aberlink Azimuth CMM.
- CMM Operation & Programming: Execute inspection programs using Aberlink 3D software, utilising CAD programming and comparison modules to verify complex geometries.
- Dimensional Reporting & Data Integrity: Generate and maintain precise, professional digital dimensional reports for all components. You will be responsible for the accuracy of these records, ensuring that all inspection data is captured efficiently to eliminate manual entry errors and provide full, transparent traceability for every part throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.
- Manage the documentation of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) ensuring all findings are recorded within our Quality Management System.
- Equipment Calibration Management: Take ownership of the calibration program for all inspection and metrology assets, including hand tools and the Aberlink CMM. You will manage maintenance intervals, track calibration due dates, and maintain rigorous, audit-ready records to ensure every piece of equipment consistently performs within specified tolerances and meets our quality standards.
- Strictly adhere to all site Health & Safety regulations, including the mandatory use of appropriate PPE (safety boots, safety glasses, and high-visibility vest) at all times while on the shop floor.

What We Are Looking For:

- Proven experience in a high-precision manufacturing environment, with a strong background in reading technical blueprints and interpreting complex engineering drawings.
- CMM Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM). Experience with Aberlink software and systems is highly desirable.
- Digital Literacy: Proficiency with digital inspection management software and the ability to maintain accurate, traceable digital records.
- Standards Knowledge: Understanding of ISO 9001 and industry-specific standards relevant to the Oil & Gas and Defence sectors is an asset.
- Professionalism: Ability to work on own initiative while coordinating effectively with the production team, engineering department, and QHSE management.
