Quality Control Operative
Dunbia, is one of Europe’s leading and respected suppliers of top-quality Beef, Pork and Lamb products for the national and international retail, commercial and foodservice markets. At our Highland site we process beef only and have over 300 employees. We’re based in Saltcoats with strong transport links.
As a key member of a successful and fast-paced operational team, the Quality Control Operative is responsible for supporting the production team by ensuring that the quality of the product is checked, ensuring it meets all production, food safety, hygiene and customer specifications.

Responsibilities
- Complete quality and due diligence checks on products, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and legal standards.
- Complete positive release checks on required orders, ensuring compliance with customer requirements prior to despatch.
- Document product quality findings and provide regular feedback to the Food Safety & Quality Team to support continuous improvement.
- Complete additional quality checks as required, including pH Checks.
- Support projects assigned by the FSQ Team.
- Assist production staff as needed with product safety and quality procedures.
- Participate in customer and third-party audits.
- Promote and maintain an “Always Audit Ready” culture within the production area.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a good understanding of written and spoken English.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills.
- Be an effective team player.
- Show good problem solving ability and confidence in using their own initiative.
- Display keen attention to detail.
- Be willing and eager to learn.
- Be flexible and able to support fellow QC team members as required.
- Have a good understanding of Products being produced onsite.
- Be punctual and display good time management.

Monday – Friday
6.30am – 3.10pm

£12.71 per hour
