We are recruiting for Quality Control Operative
£13 per hour basic
£19.50 per hour Overtime
Blackburn (BB1 3BS)
Previous experience in Quality Control within Food Manufacturing is essential
Hours: 39.5 per week. Mon – Thurs 06:50 – 15:00, Fri 05:50-12:10
Temporary to permanent position after 12 weeks available
Kingdom People are recruiting for Quality Control Operative to work at one of our client’s locations. It is mainly based in the office, however the element of shop floor presence in food production and warehouse environment is required. Full PPE will have to be worn (hair net, boots, overall, ear plugs – all provided). The client operates in ambient production environment.

The Role
Quality Control Operative will be expected to do the following tasks (list is not exhaustive):
- Daily verification and failsafe monitoring on CCP, Checkweighers, and Packaging verification systems
- Carry out start up and end of shift checks on all packing lines
- Carry out WIP and finished goods checks against agreed QAS
- Identify and report quality and food safety issues, escalating where necessary
- Raising of non conformance reports with the collection of evidence
- Raising of food safety incidents, plastic breakages, etc with the collection of evidence
- Inspection and verification of packaging and raw materials against Supplier specifications
- The verification and checks on bulk deliveries before unload
- Conducting of factory audits; GMP, QMS and Glass & Plastics
- Weekly calibration of scales and checkweighers
- Collection of samples and the conducting of swabbing across site
- Conducting of taste panels
- Supporting training and awareness relating to food safety and quality standards
- Additional tasks as required by the QA Supervisor and/or Technical Manager

Requirements
Quality Control Operative ideally need to fulfil the following requirements:
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Confident using computer systems and hand held devices
- Good organisational & problem solving skills
- Understanding of GMP, HACCP and Food Safety principles
Be able to work 8 hr shift
Previous experience in Quality Control within Food Manufacturing is essential
Being able to commute to Blackburn (BB1 3BS)
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
