About Nomadic Watches

Nomadic Watches is an independent watch brand on a mission to put Belfast on the watchmaking map, creating timepieces that connect people to their roots and their defining moments in life. We are a fast-growing company with a global customer base, an award-winning team, and an immersive flagship store in the heart of Belfast. Through partnerships and collaborations including the Irish Football Association (IFA) and the North West 200, the reach and complexity of our products continue to grow.

Joining Nomadic at this stage offers an opportunity to play a direct role in developing the quality and manufacturing standards behind a growing independent watch brand.

Role Overview

As Quality Control & Production Technician, you will be responsible for the quality and physical flow of components through our workshop, from receiving and inspecting incoming parts, through storage and production kitting, to final inspection of completed watches.

Quality Control provides an independent and consistent standard across our watchmaking team, helping ensure every watch leaving our workshop represents the quality expected from Nomadic. Previous watchmaking experience is not essential. Full training will be provided on our products, processes and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Control

  • Conduct independent final cosmetic and functional inspection of completed watches
  • Identify defects including scratches, marks, dust/FOD, alignment and assembly issues
  • Conduct water resistance testing using approved procedures
  • Approve watches for release or provide clear feedback to Watchmakers for rework
  • Maintain accurate inspection and defect records
  • Apply Nomadic’s quality standards consistently and objectively

Inbound Quality & Parts Control

  • Receive and process all incoming component and material deliveries
  • Inspect components against approved specifications using AQL or 100% inspection depending on risk and criticality
  • Identify and quarantine non-conforming components
  • Own the organisation, storage and put-away of watch components and materials
  • Maintain accurate stock locations, traceability and appropriate storage conditions
  • Communicate supplier quality issues clearly to Supply Chain

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
