ROLE OVERVIEW:

A leading organisation in the life sciences industry is seeking a dedicated QC Scientist to join their team in Oxford. As the QC Scientist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of products through meticulous testing and analysis.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the QC Scientist will be varied; however, the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Perform incoming material and final QC tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products, focusing on DNA and RNA amplification, including qPCR, RT-qPCR, and isothermal amplification.
  • Troubleshoot and onboard new amplification reactions, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of QC test results.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by refining existing QC methods and onboarding new products and techniques, identifying areas for improvement and escalating to Technical Leadership.
  • Maintain QC laboratories in a state of readiness, assist in monitoring and maintenance of calibration status of QC equipment, and manage stocks of reagents and materials.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the QC Scientist, we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

  • Relevant degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven industry experience in qPCR/RT-qPCR and/or isothermal amplification assays, including the setup of new assays and troubleshooting.
  • A working knowledge and practical experience with maintaining cleanliness within an amplification laboratory and familiarity with working within a Quality Management System, preferably ISO 13485 (desired).
