Quality Control Receiving Goods Technician
We are recruiting for a Quality Control Receiving Goods Technician to join an advanced manufacturer based in Yorkshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quality Inspector or Goods Inwards Inspector with a background in precision engineering, medical devices, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting incoming materials and components, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings, quality specifications, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform incoming goods inspection, including dimensional, visual, and functional checks.
- Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) and maintain accurate inspection reports.
- Apply AQL sampling plans to assess incoming materials and components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and GD&T requirements.
- Use precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and optical comparators.
- Identify and document non-conforming materials, supporting investigations and corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate inspection records, material traceability, and quality documentation.
- Support stock control, material handling, labelling, and goods receiving activities.
- Assist with Device History Records (DHR), product release documentation, and audit preparation.
- Work closely with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to maintain product quality and compliance.

Skills & Experience Required
- 3–5 years' experience within quality inspection, receiving inspection, or precision manufacturing, ideally within medical devices or a regulated industry.
- Engineering apprenticeship, NVQ, BTEC, or degree in a relevant technical discipline.
- Experience conducting FAI and dimensional inspection.
- Knowledge of AQL sampling methods and inspection acceptance criteria.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and GD&T.
- Experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment.
- Experienced working in highly regulated sectors.
- Excellent attention to detail, documentation skills, and ability to work collaboratively.
