Position: Quality Controller

Location: Newcastle-under-Lyme

Contract Type: Temporary ongoing | Full-Time- Day AND Night shifts available as follows-

DAYS 7:00AM-4:00PM

NIGHTS 9:30PM-6:30AM

Hourly Rate: £13.57 - £15.53

Are you passionate about ensuring high-quality standards in manufacturing? Do you have an eagle eye for detail and a knack for numbers? If so, we want you to be part of our client's dynamic team as a Quality Controller.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Quality Controller, you will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of our client's products. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough inspections of incoming materials and finished products
  • Documenting inspection results accurately and promptly
  • Identifying and reporting any quality issues or discrepancies
  • Collaborating with production teams to ensure compliance
  • Assisting in the implementation of quality control processes
  • Conducting weight checks for frozen products and verifying breakages where required
  • Monitoring weight and size of products during production to ensure compliance with specification
  • Conducting daily checks for accuracy
  • Completing daily/weekly temperature checks for chillers, freezers, and canteen refrigerators
  • Ensuring that all products meet specified temperature requirements throughout production
  • Carrying out knife checks to ensure safety and compliance
  • Generating and maintaining reports, ensuring timely resolution of quality issues
  • Verifying product label accuracy
  • Conducting routine metal detection checks
  • Following monthly sampling plans for materials and finished products

What We're Looking For

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • Previous quality control checking is essential
  • Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn
  • Good English skills - written and verbal
  • IT Literate with an understanding of Microsoft package and email
  • Good organisation and communication skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative with an eye for detail
  • Ability to work in a targeted environment
  • Previous experience working in a food manufacturing environment beneficial
