Act as a trusted and effective partner to Regional Agents in the delivery of outstanding, compliant sales of NFUM products, promoting best practice and delivering excellent customer outcomes.
Shape standards at the face of the Agency Network through monitoring, assessing and coaching Agents, delivering constructive feedback and effective development plans.
This is a regional field-based role, covering the Scotland Region.
About the role:
In this role, you’ll work shoulder to shoulder with our Agency Network to influence, monitor and uplift the quality of sales and service across your region. You’ll spend time in agencies and with customers, seeing how things really work and offering practical advice, structured coaching and clear feedback that helps Agents and their teams meet the highest standards. You’ll support new Agents to attain competence, and you’ll coach experienced teams to embed great habits, reduce breaches and complaints, and deliver consistently fair outcomes. Often on a ‘1:1’ basis and sometimes in a workshop environment.
You’ll partner closely with regional leadership and work with the Governance & Controls Manager (GCM) and the Regional Regulatory Controller (RRC). You will oversee Appointed Representative (AR) monitoring and contribute to breach investigations and help implement corrective actions that stick. You’ll use insight from agency visits and MI to spot trends, share best practice and influence improvements to processes, training and customer journeys.
You’ll be driving quality assurance for our Agency network and also play a vital role in supporting adoption of changes in product offerings and the sales process, making sure Agents understand what’s new, how it benefits customers and how to position it with confidence and clarity. You’ll champion NFU Mutual’s quality culture and our commitment to doing the right thing for customers, every time.
This role falls under Insurance Distribution Directive requirements, and as a result, role holders will be required to demonstrate ongoing Continuous Professional Development in role, along with undergoing regular re-screening to show that they are of “Good Repute”. Further information can be found in the FCA Handbook.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
