Role Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Director to lead the Quality function within a highly regulated aerospace manufacturing environment. As a member of the site leadership team, the Quality Director will be responsible for maintaining, developing, and optimising the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and industry requirements.
The Quality Director will drive continuous improvement activities, lead quality assurance initiatives, and support the delivery of operational excellence through effective quality management processes. This position plays a key role in enhancing product quality, customer satisfaction, and business performance whilst leading the development of a high-performing quality team.
This role is ideal for a proactive Quality Director with strong aerospace quality experience who can influence across all levels of the organisation and deliver sustainable improvements. The successful Quality Director will combine strategic leadership with a hands-on approach to quality management.

Role & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all site quality activities, ensuring compliance with customer, business, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and continuously improve the QMS in line with AS9100/AS9110 standards.
- Lead and develop a team of approximately 25 Quality Engineers, supporting capability development and succession planning.
- Manage internal, customer, and third-party audits, ensuring compliance and successful audit outcomes.
- Drive corrective and preventive action activities to address non-conformances and customer complaints.
- Monitor and report quality performance metrics including RPPM, SPPM, COPQ, and customer satisfaction measures.
- Work collaboratively with Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Customer Quality teams to improve quality performance.
- Assess supplier capability and monitor supplier quality performance, implementing improvement actions where required.
- Lead quality meetings, reviews, and continuous improvement workshops.
- Communicate customer, regulatory, and industry requirements throughout the business.
- Support quality strategy development and deployment at site level.
- Exercise authority to stop production, shipments, or quarantine products where quality requirements are not met.

Requirements of the Role
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Thorough knowledge of AS9100, AS9110, and aerospace quality standards.
- Knowledge of FAA, EASA, and CAAC Part 21 and Part 145 regulations.
- Minimum 5 years' experience within Operational Quality Management.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a Quality Director leadership role.
- AS9100 Lead Auditor qualification.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent experience; Black Belt advantageous.
- Strong understanding of quality tools including DFMEA, PFMEA, APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, and 8D methodologies.
- Experience of project management and change management.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving capability.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
