About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team at Moog UK. In this role, you will be responsible for developing innovative mechanical solutions that meet the technical specifications and performance requirements of our cutting-edge motion control products. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including electrical engineering, software development, and manufacturing to ensure seamless integration of mechanical components into complex systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical design, proficiency with CAD tools, and a keen eye for detail, ensuring that all designs adhere to industry standards and safety regulations. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or a related field
  • Proven experience in mechanical design, preferably within the aerospace, defense, or industrial automation sectors
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or Catia
  • Solid understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and engineering principles
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication abilities
  • Ability to work effectively within a team
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and safety regulations
  • Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and other simulation tools is advantageous
  • Proactive attitude, adaptability, and a passion for innovation

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical components and systems that meet project specifications, performance criteria, and safety standards
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical designs with electrical, software, and manufacturing processes
  • Create detailed 3D models, technical drawings, and documentation to facilitate manufacturing and assembly
  • Conduct design reviews, simulations, and testing to validate mechanical solutions, making iterative improvements as necessary
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and internal quality procedures
  • Support prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting activities, providing technical expertise throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Maintain accurate records of design changes, test results, and project documentation
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve design efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product performance and reliability
