Quality Engineer / Metrology Engineer (Manufacturing)
We’re hiring a Quality Engineer with strong metrology experience to support inspection planning, measurement policy development, and continuous improvement across a busy manufacturing environment.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for:
- Performing and maintaining detailed quality records including Inspection Plans, ISIRs, and FAIRs
- Developing measurement policies to help reduce scrap in the machine shop
- Participating in product design reviews to promote repeatability and reliability for production
- Conducting capability studies and Gage R&R (as directed)
- Supporting additional reasonable duties as required

Qualifications / Background
- Working knowledge of metrology with a background in Quality Engineering
Experience
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong knowledge of quality systems
- Proven ability to maintain detailed quality records
Technical
- Practical use of basic metrology tools (imperial & metric)
- PC literate with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Skills & Competencies
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and tolerances
- Able to communicate technical info clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- High accuracy/attention to detail; able to work unsupervised and meet deadlines under pressure
- Team player who can also work independently
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines

Desirable (nice to have)
- Experience with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines)
- Experience with optical measurement systems
- Internal Auditor experience to AS9100D
- Familiarity inspecting a wide range of materials (plastics, rubber, metals)
- First Article Inspection experience to AS9102

- Follow all site Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures
- Use provided safety equipment and ensure compliance for employees/contractors/visitors
- Follow relevant work instructions as defined in the Quality Systems Manual
- Ensure compliance with all company policies
