About The Role
We are currently seeking a highly skilled OAT Quality Engineer to join our client’s team on a contract basis. This role is pivotal in ensuring the operational readiness and deployment success of AWS-hosted services. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and executing operational acceptance testing, supporting service management activities, and validating system performance, monitoring, and support processes. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work remotely within a dynamic environment, contributing to critical telecommunications and cloud-based infrastructure projects. The role requires candidates to hold or be eligible for SC clearance, ensuring security compliance for sensitive operations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in operational acceptance testing, service management, and IT operations within a UK environment.
- Proven expertise in AWS cloud services and technical testing practices related to cloud-hosted applications.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, New Relic, or Elastic Stack.
- Strong knowledge of scripting and automation tools including Ansible and Bash scripting, along with Linux/system administration skills.
- Experience testing telecommunications technologies, specifically 4G and 5G services.
- Must possess or be eligible for SC (Security Check) clearance, with a preference for candidates holding transferable SC clearance.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment, with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to document and report testing outcomes clearly and concisely.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of critical activities, including:
- Designing, planning, and executing Operational Acceptance Testing (OAT) for AWS-hosted applications and services to ensure operational readiness prior to deployment.
- Assessing and validating the operational readiness of cloud-based applications and infrastructure, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and requirements.
- Collaborating closely with service management and operational teams to support live service operations, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance.
- Utilizing monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, New Relic, and Elastic Stack to validate system health, performance metrics, and alerting mechanisms.
- Supporting testing and troubleshooting activities through scripting and automation, leveraging Ansible, Bash, and system administration expertise.
- Testing and validating telecommunications technologies, including 4G and 5G services, ensuring they meet operational and performance standards.
- Documenting testing procedures, results, and recommendations, providing detailed reports to stakeholders and management.
- Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing methodologies, operational processes, and system performance.
