Role Overview
Reporting to the Manufacturing Quality Manager, you will play a key role within a dynamic and supportive Quality team, helping to shape product quality from concept through to customer delivery. Working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations, customers and suppliers, you will have the opportunity to influence product development, drive continuous improvement and solve complex quality challenges in a fast-paced aerospace environment.
This role offers significant variety, combining New Product Introduction (NPI), quality assurance, problem solving and continuous improvement activities. You will be empowered to lead quality initiatives, influence cross-functional teams and contribute to the development of innovative aircraft seating products that are delivered to world-leading aerospace customers.

Key Responsibilities
New Product Introduction & Production Readiness
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Operations teams to identify and mitigate quality risks, support production readiness and ensure successful product launches.
- Support quality activities throughout the product development and introduction lifecycle, ensuring effective quality planning, risk management, lessons learned and robust controls are embedded from concept through to production.
- Develop Quality Control Plans, Process Controls, Inspection Requirements.
- Lead delegated customer source inspections and coordinate First Article Inspection (FAI) activities, including FAIR preparation and completion in accordance with AS9102.
- Verify supplier FAIR submissions and associated inspection requirements.

Product Quality & Problem Resolution
- Define, implement and continuously improve quality standards, controls and inspection requirements for manufacturing, assembly and inspection activities.
- Lead the investigation and resolution of customer concerns, internal quality issues and product non-conformances through effective containment, root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Manage Corrective Action Requests (CARs) and facilitate structured cross-functional problem-solving activities using methodologies such as 8D, DMAIC and PDCA.
- Manage Material Review Board (MRB) activities to ensure timely and effective disposition of non-conforming products and prevention of customer escapes.
Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence
- Use quality metrics, such as SPC, to identify improvement opportunities and support evidence-based decision making.
- Proactively support to identify and mitigate quality and process risks in manufacturing.
- Share lessons learned from quality investigations, customer feedback and production issues to drive continuous improvement across the business.
- Support calibration activities, Quality Technician development, Form 1 approvals and wider quality improvement initiatives across the organisation. (Training provided)
Skills and Experience Required
- Working knowledge of AS9100, AS9102, AS9145 and Part 21G. Approved auditor would be an advantage.
- Strong working knowledge of quality assurance and control tools and techniques and experience in Lean manufacturing techniques.
- Hands-on experience of 8D problem solving methodology and supporting tools & techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (both verbal and written), with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Ability to lead, manage and mentor a cross-functional team to achieve goals that contribute to driving change to deliver Continuous improvement.
- Possessing a strong customer focus and commercial acumen, you will be organized, and results driven with a focus on achieving results and meeting deadlines.
- Diligent, enthusiastic and driven, with an excellent work ethic, and a “can do” attitude.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to work under pressure, prioritise and manage conflicting demands.
- Highly adaptable and capable of making decisions in a fast and pressured environment.
- Confident in the use of Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access).
- Experience in various manufacturing methods and techniques including surface treatments (i.e. Zinc plating and Anodising) and ability to verify in accordance with engineering data and cosmetic standards.
