MTrec Recruitment are proudly representing our specialist manufacturing client in their recruitment for a Production Team Leader. The role will lead a team of skilled operatives and oversee the day-to-day operations of the business covering the day shift.

The Job you will do:

  • Develop and maintain product assurance systems to meet IATF 16949 and customer-specific requirements.
  • Lead a culture of defect prevention, continuous improvement, and waste reduction.
  • Apply core quality tools including SPC, Pareto, histograms, scatter diagrams, and stratification.
  • Support manufacturing teams in the timely resolution of internal and customer quality issues.
  • Support NPI activities including APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, gauge planning, and capability studies.
  • Incorporate lessons learned to identify and prevent potential failure modes.
  • Conduct internal audits and promote compliance with company systems, procedures, and quality requirements.
  • Analyse and communicate quality/process data to senior management and drive improvement actions.
  • Programme and perform routine CMM measurements and support NPI measurement capability studies.
  • Support the Quality Manager in coordinating Quality Engineers and Laboratory Supervisors.
  • Liaise directly with customers and suppliers to investigate and resolve quality concerns.

  • Experience working as a Quality Engineer or similar within an engineering/manufacturing environment
  • An understanding and knowledge of IATF 16949 standards
  • Proven leadership capability with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective resource planning and prioritisation, managing competing demands and multiple deliverables.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in developing PPAP documentation, including PFMEA and Control Plans.
  • Practical experience applying quality tools and techniques, including 8D analysis and Poka-Yoke.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business and quality objectives.
