Autoneum

Autoneum is globally leading in acoustic and thermal management for light and commercial vehicles. Job Purpose

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring customer and internal quality requirements are achieved throughout the manufacturing process. The role focuses on driving continuous improvement, reducing defects, supporting customer satisfaction, and ensuring compliance with IATF 16949, customer-specific requirements, and applicable statutory standards.

The Quality Engineer will act as the primary quality contact for manufacturing operations and will support problem-solving activities, customer concerns, audits, launch activities, and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Quality

  • Lead investigation and containment activities for customer complaints and warranty issues.
  • Coordinate customer concern responses using 8D methodology.
  • Manage customer portals and ensure timely submission of corrective actions.
  • Support customer visits, audits, and quality reviews.
  • Monitor customer quality performance indicators and develop improvement plans.

Process Quality

  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with Control Plans, PFMEAs, and customer requirements.
  • Conduct process audits and layered process audits.
  • Monitor process capability and quality performance data.
  • Support production teams in reducing scrap, rework, and defects.
  • Verify effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.

Problem Solving & Continual Improvement

  • Facilitate root cause investigations using:
    • 8D
    • 5 Why Analysis
    • Ishikawa (Fishbone) Diagrams
    • Fault Tree Analysis
    • Pareto Analysis
  • Lead cross-functional improvement projects.
  • Drive reduction of customer complaints, internal defects, and cost of poor quality.
  • Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

Advanced Quality Planning

  • Support APQP activities for new product launches.
  • Participate in design and process reviews.
  • Review and approve:
    • PFMEA
    • Process Flow Diagrams
    • Control Plans
    • Work Instructions
  • Coordinate Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions.
  • Support safe launch and containment activities.

Measurement Systems & Data Analysis

  • Conduct and review:
    • MSA studies
    • Gauge R&R
    • Attribute Agreement Analysis
  • Analyse quality data and identify trends.
  • Prepare KPI reports and management presentations.
  • Monitor SPC and process capability (Cp/Cpk) performance.

Auditing & Compliance

  • Conduct internal audits in accordance with IATF 16949 requirements.
  • Support external certification and customer audits.
  • Ensure compliance with:
    • IATF 16949
    • ISO 9001
    • Customer Specific Requirements (CSR)
    • Company Quality Standards

Supplier Quality Support

  • Support supplier issue resolution activities.
  • Review supplier corrective actions.
  • Participate in supplier audits where required.
  • Monitor supplier quality performance metrics.

Education / Core Experience

  • Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 Years' Experience In Automotive, Manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements.
  • Experience with automotive core tools:
    • APQP
    • PPAP
    • PFMEA
    • Control Plans
    • MSA
    • SPC
  • Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience responding to customer concerns using 8D methodology.

Desirable Skills

  • Certified Internal Auditor.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
  • VDA 6.3 Process Auditor qualification.
  • Experience With OEM Customer Requirements.
