Nicholas Associates has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer, to join an innovative & growing client in the Sheffield area.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting and maintaining the Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with applicable customer, regulatory, and industry requirements.
- Investigating internal and external quality concerns, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Managing non-conformances and corrective and preventive actions, including containment, root cause analysis, implementation, and verification of effectiveness.
- Completing quality plans as required, ensuring product and process quality requirements are clearly defined, controlled, and maintained.
- Supporting New Product Introduction activities, including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, and the implementation of customer-specific quality requirements.
- Working closely with production, engineering, customers, and suppliers to resolve quality issues, improve processes, and promote continual improvement.
- Conducting process, product, and layered process audits, supporting customer and third-party audits as required.
- Monitoring and reporting quality KPIs, analyse trends, identify areas for improvement, and supporting the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Supporting the management of customer complaints, non-conforming products, and containment activities to ensure timely and effective resolution.
- Reviewing, preparing, and maintaining quality documentation, inspection standards, work instructions, document packages, product release documentation, and despatch notes.
- Supporting supplier quality activities and supplier management, including monitoring supplier performance, addressing quality issues, and ensuring compliance with customer and industry standards.
- Conducting and supporting risk assessments to identify potential product and process risks and ensuring appropriate controls are implemented.
- Maintaining standards control to ensure that applicable quality standards, specifications, procedures, and customer requirements are understood and consistently applied.
- Managing calibration activities and tooling requirements, ensuring inspection and measurement equipment is suitable, accurate, appropriately maintained, and within its required calibration period.
- Undertaking appropriate training on quality requirements, procedures, standards, and customer-specific requirements to maintain and develop professional competence.
- Interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and CAD models to support the inspection, manufacture, release, and quality assurance of products and processes.
