Quality Engineer

Mansell Recruitment Group is recruiting for a hands-on Quality Engineer to join an established engineering and manufacturing business. This is a practical, production-focused quality role, ideal for an engineer who enjoys being on the shop floor, solving problems at source and driving improvements within a precision manufacturing environment.

The Role

Working closely with Production, Manufacturing, Design and Quality teams, you will:

  • Investigate manufacturing and product quality issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventative actions
  • Provide hands-on quality support across production, test and despatch
  • Resolve manufacturing process issues and identify higher-risk components and activities
  • Support engineering changes to improve product quality, manufacturing throughput and cost
  • Produce sample approval packages for new parts and assemblies
  • Work closely with suppliers to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement
  • Support non-conformance and supplier return processes
  • Assist with the calibration of gauges and measuring equipment
  • Develop work instructions, processes and test documentation
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, waste reduction and mistake-proofing initiatives

The Candidate

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience gained within an industrial engineering or manufacturing environment, ideally involving:

  • Electro-mechanical assembly and/or precision CNC machining
  • Quality engineering, QA or product inspection
  • Root cause analysis and practical problem solving
  • Supplier quality and non-conformance management
  • MRP/ERP systems – Dynamics 365 would be advantageous
  • ISO 9001 and formal quality methodologies
  • Six Sigma methodologies

A Degree or HND in an engineering discipline would be beneficial but is not essential where suitable practical experience can be demonstrated.

This position would suit a Quality Engineer, Manufacturing Quality Engineer, Mechanical Quality Engineer, Supplier Quality Engineer or Quality Assurance Engineer looking for a varied and genuinely hands-on engineering role.

Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 depending on experience

Benefits include 33 days' holiday including Bank Holidays, pension, private healthcare and life assurance, subject to qualifying periods.
