Quality Engineer
Burton upon Trent £40,000 - £42,000 Monday - Friday - 08:00 - 16:20
The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for a Quality Engineer to join a successful and growing manufacturing business based in Burton upon Trent. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality-focused professional who is passionate about continuous improvement, problem-solving, and driving quality standards across a manufacturing environment. Working closely with operational teams and customers, you will play a key role in identifying root causes, implementing corrective actions, and ensuring the highest levels of product quality are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse customer returns, complaints, and product defects to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare, maintain, and review Control Plans for components and finished products.
- Conduct Process Audits and Capability Studies to ensure manufacturing processes remain compliant and effective.
- Utilise a range of quality and problem-solving tools, including PPS, A3, Ishikawa, Is/Is Not, Minitab and 5 Why methodologies.
- Support the continuous improvement of Operator Description Sheets (ODS).
- Lead Root Cause Analysis and problem-solving activities relating to plant and customer quality concerns.
- Support and understand supplier quality requirements, including PPAP processes.
- Raise, manage, and maintain quality documentation, including Quality Alerts and related reports.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive quality improvements and reduce non-conformances.
- Travel at short notice when required to support quality-related activities.

About You
Experience
- Previous experience within a manufacturing quality environment.
- Experience managing customer quality concerns and communication activities.
- Automotive industry experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Experience conducting audits, capability studies, and structured problem-solving exercises.
Skills
- Strong understanding of quality systems and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage at all levels of the business and with customers.
- Proven knowledge of problem-solving tools and quality methodologies.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently.
- Strong analytical and investigation skills with a keen eye for detail
