Quality Engineer
Location: Ramsgate, Kent
About the Role
AEM Limited is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our Ramsgate facility. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining regulatory compliance, supporting quality management systems, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring adherence to aerospace industry standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for a quality professional with experience in a regulated engineering or aerospace environment who enjoys problem-solving, auditing, and improving processes.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management & Compliance
- Support the maintenance of company approvals including:
- AS9100
- AS9110
- EASA Part 145
- FAA and other international regulatory approvals
- Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and company quality requirements.
- Support and host customer, regulatory, and third-party audits.
- Conduct internal and supplier audits in line with the audit schedule.
- Maintain the calibration system to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Manage and maintain the authorisation control system, including personnel stamps and approvals.
- Support compliance with EN4179 requirements, ensuring NDT authorisations and documentation remain current.
Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement
- Manage the non-conformance reporting process and lead investigations into quality issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Lead product and system failure investigations using recognised problem-solving methodologies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, compliance, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Develop, review, and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, forms, and related documentation.

Training & Development
- Maintain employee training records and coordinate training activities.
- Deliver quality and regulatory compliance training where required.
- Ensure employees complete mandatory training relevant to their roles.
Health, Safety & Environment
- Comply with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
- Promote a safe working environment and support company safety initiatives.
Technology & Innovation
- Utilise AI tools appropriately to improve productivity, decision-making, quality outcomes, and operational efficiency.
- Assess and validate AI-generated outputs to ensure accuracy, compliance, and effectiveness.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Experience working within a regulated quality environment, preferably aerospace, aviation, MRO, manufacturing, or engineering.
- Knowledge of AS9100 and/or AS9110 quality management systems.
- Internal auditing experience and auditor training.
- Experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Understanding of non-conformance management processes.
- Human Factors awareness.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-marking, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.

Desirable
- Experience with EASA Part 145, FAA, or equivalent regulatory environments.
- Supplier audit experience.
- Knowledge of EN4179 and NDT requirements.
- Experience delivering training.
