About The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Engineer to join a major infrastructure project. This position is ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented quality professional who is passionate about delivering projects right first time and driving a culture of excellence.
Working closely with project teams, designers, subcontractors, and stakeholders, you will play a key role in ensuring quality standards, client requirements, and project procedures are consistently achieved throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and maintenance of project Quality Management Systems.
- Assist in the development and management of Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
- Conduct internal audits and support supply chain and design partner audits.
- Review subcontractor quality documentation and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and support corrective action close-out.
- Promote a proactive quality culture and defect-free approach across all project activities.
- Support project handover documentation and quality reviews.
- Deliver quality awareness training and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure quality activities align with sustainability and carbon reduction objectives.

About You
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Experience in a Quality Engineer, Quality Coordinator, or Quality Assurance role.
- Previous exposure to civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities, rail, construction, or similar engineering sectors.
- Strong understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
- Experience producing and reviewing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
- Knowledge of auditing processes and quality assurance practices.
- Experience managing NCRs and driving corrective actions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive approach with strong attention to detail.
Essential
Qualifications & Experience
- Full UK working rights – This role does not offer sponsorship
- HNC, HND or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Good understanding of:
- ISO 9001
- Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
- NCR Management
- Root Cause Analysis
- Document Control and Quality Records Management

Desirable
- CQI Quality Practitioner (PCQI)
- CQI Diploma in Quality Management
- IRCA Internal or Lead Auditor Certification
- ISO 14001 Auditor Training
- ISO 45001 Auditor Training
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (or above)
- Knowledge of BIM and digital construction processes.
