About The Role
We are seeking two Senior Quality Engineers to join our Mobile team at Lendable. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our mobile applications, particularly our flagship app, Zable. Zable is the primary touchpoint for most of our customers to access our financial products, including loans, credit cards, car finance, mobile plans, subscriptions, and upcoming innovations. Built with React Native and TypeScript, with a Kotlin backend, the app is shipped seamlessly to both iOS and Android platforms from a single codebase. As we scale, we need to enhance our quality engineering practices to support faster release cycles without compromising on quality or stability.

This is an automation-first position, emphasizing coding and tooling over manual testing. You will spend most of your time developing test frameworks, CI/CD tooling, helpers, and automation scripts. Collaborating closely with software engineers, product managers, and designers, you will set the direction for mobile quality assurance. Additionally, you will explore AI-assisted testing techniques, leveraging large language models and AI tools to accelerate test creation, failure analysis, and coverage insights, ensuring that our testing processes are trustworthy and efficient.
In this role, your responsibilities will include defining and evolving the mobile test strategy, building reliable end-to-end automation suites, integrating these into our CI pipeline, and continuously improving test stability and speed. You will also be pioneering the integration of AI into our SDLC, using AI tools to enhance test authoring, failure clustering, and coverage analysis. Furthermore, you will work proactively with product and engineering teams to identify and prevent defects early in the development process, utilizing our observability stack to tie test coverage back to real customer impact and conducting targeted exploratory testing on high-risk releases.

Essential:
- Six or more years of experience in quality engineering or test automation, with a proven track record of maintaining stable, scalable automated test suites.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript, capable of building helpers, tooling, and debugging within the application when necessary.
- Hands-on experience with Appium, device farms, or emulator/simulator orchestration at scale.
- Experience working with Maestro, Detox, or similar mobile automation frameworks.
- Expertise in shaping CI/CD pipelines for test reliability, including managing flakiness, parallel execution, artifacts, and runtime controls, preferably using GitHub Actions or equivalent tools.
- Comfortable with mobile E2E automation or extensive experience with E2E testing on other platforms, with a credible plan to adapt to mobile testing using React Native, TypeScript, and Expo.
- Ability to operate independently, driving improvements across frameworks, CI pipelines, test data management, and reporting systems.
Desirable
- Hands-on experience testing React Native applications.
- Knowledge of mobile performance optimization, including crash reporting, startup time, and battery/memory management.
- Experience with API and contract testing, along with strategies for test data and environment management.
- Familiarity with native mobile development in Swift or Kotlin for troubleshooting React Native leaks.
- Prior experience in integrating AI-assisted testing practices, such as test generation, failure clustering, and coverage analytics, with appropriate review and trust controls.
