Who will you be working with?
Napier Turbocharger, a Wabtec Company, has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join a well-established business that designs, manufactures, and tests industrial turbochargers supplied into the Power Generation, Marine, and Rail Traction industries.

Are you a Quality Engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, working closely with suppliers, and driving continuous improvement? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity to join Napier Turbochargers, a respected engineering business with a proud heritage of designing and manufacturing world-class turbochargers for the Power Generation, Marine, and Rail industries.
Reporting to the Quality Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of components supplied to our manufacturing operations. You'll work directly with suppliers, influence improvements across the supply chain, and help deliver products that power critical industries around the world.
What will your typical day look like?
As our Quality Engineer, you'll be responsible for improving supplier performance and ensuring our supply chain consistently meets the highest quality standards.
- Investigating supplier non-conformances and leading root cause analysis.
- Ensuring supplier compliance with Napier’s Quality Management System through audits and improvement action plans.
- Measuring and maintaining supplier performance in line with the Napier Vendor Assessment system.
- Leading supplier investigations and managing corrective action processes (5-Why, Fishbone, DMAIC, 8D).
- Supporting suppliers with technical and process improvements.
- Conducting supplier risk assessments and participating in new supplier evaluations and approvals.
- Managing supplier scorecards, KPIs, and quality performance dashboards.
- Collaborating cross-functionally with Procurement, Operations, Engineering, and Commercial teams.

What do we want to know about you?
You may already be working as a:
- Quality Engineer
- Supplier Quality Engineer
- Supplier Development Engineer
- Manufacturing Engineer
- Production Engineer
- Supplier Performance or Supplier Management Specialist
We're particularly interested in individuals who have experience within engineering or manufacturing environments and a passion for quality improvement.
Experience in the following areas would be beneficial:
- Supplier quality and performance management
- Root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, DMAIC)
- Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
- APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC
- Non-conformance management and supplier corrective actions
- Interpreting engineering drawings
- Manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, casting, welding, moulding, coatings, or similar engineering disciplines
Experience within regulated industries such as Automotive, Aerospace, Rail, or other highly controlled manufacturing environments would be advantageous but is not essential.
