Location: Bedfordshire

Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum + Package

About the Role

Our client is an established and growing residential groundworks contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality infrastructure and groundworks packages for leading UK housebuilders.

This is an excellent opportunity for a quality-focused professional with strong residential groundworks and NHBC experience to take a key role in maintaining and improving quality standards across live developments.

The Role

  • As Quality Engineer, you will work closely with the project delivery, engineering, and commercial teams to ensure groundworks projects are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications, NHBC requirements, and company quality procedures.
  • You will have responsibility for monitoring quality throughout the construction process, identifying potential issues early, and supporting site teams in achieving a high standard of workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor quality across residential groundworks projects from commencement through to completion.
  • Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications, and approved construction details.
  • Carry out regular site inspections and quality audits.
  • Maintain quality records, inspection and test plans, and associated documentation.
  • Work closely with Site Managers, Engineers, Foremen, and subcontractors to resolve quality issues.
  • Identify non-conformances and support corrective and preventative actions.
  • Ensure works comply with relevant NHBC standards and requirements.
  • Assist with inspections, handovers, and completion processes.
  • Review construction activities including drainage, roads, foundations, earthworks, and external works.
  • Support the project team in maintaining high standards of workmanship and documentation.
  • Assist with continuous improvement across projects and contribute to lessons-learned processes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
