Quality Engineer - Aerospace | 4-Day Week

Up to £45,000 DOE | Southend-on-Sea | Monday to Thursday | 37 hours

An established aerospace engineering manufacturer in Southend-on-Sea is looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to lead its Quality and Inspection function. They are looking for and Aerospace Quality professional seeking a 4-day working week, with greater autonomy and leadership responsibility. You'll own the QMS, lead the Inspection team and act as the main point of contact for quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Lead, support and develop the Inspection team
  • Act as the main point of contact for quality matters
  • Create and approve FAIR / LAIR documentation
  • Oversee calibration, testing and qualification
  • Conduct internal and external audits to AS9100 / ISO 9001 standards
  • Act as Approved Signatory for release and inspection processes
  • Manage VisualFAIR software training and compliance
  • Drive continuous improvement and support business objectives

Skills & Experience

  • Proven aerospace engineering experience - essential
  • Strong working knowledge of AS9100 / ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
  • Experience with First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) / LAIR
  • Experience with QMS documentation, FAIRs, contract reviews and calibration
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Experience conducting internal and external audits
  • Experience leading or developing an Inspection / Quality team
  • Strong organisational, communication and leadership skills
