Job Title

Quality Engineer

Group Quality Manager

Job Purpose

Responsible for the completion of Customer and/or Supplier quality documents, ensuring all processes meet quality standards and customer requirements and deputising for the Group Quality Manager and European Quality Engineer when required. The Role focuses on reducing errors, improving efficiency and maintaining compliance across the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and Completion of Customer Questionnaires and appraisal information
  • Maintenance, Completion and Investigation of Customer Rejects/Corrective actions including knowledge of 8D
  • Maintenance and Completion of REACH and Rohs and associated compliance documentation
  • Maintenance and Completion of Declaration of Origin’s
  • Maintenance and Completion of Customer requested paperwork (e.g. ISIR, FAIR, PPAP, IMDS)
  • Completion of AFC Control plans and Process flow diagrams when required
  • Maintenance and Completion of Supplier rejects and supplier corrective action requests
  • Awareness of Supplier/Customer KPI’s, Supplier Questionnaires/Appraisals, Integrated AFC Management Manual and the Auditing process.
  • Awareness and completion of Occupational Health & Safety & Environmental Processes. (risk assessments, Training and Method statements)
  • Give assistance to AFC Group Warehouse/logistics and Quality Coordinators when required.
  • Timely completion and escalation of AFC KPI and continual improvement opportunities
  • Use of Excel/Word/Outlook

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Knowledge of key quality terms within the Aerospace and Automotive sectors
  • Strong analytical and problem -solving skills
  • Experience with ISO 9001, AS 9120 and 9100 preferred
  • Knowledge of inventory control including VMI/ DLF
  • Knowledge of quality tools (root cause, FMEA. Control plans etc)
  • Excellent attention to detail required.
  • Ability to work to deadlines, prioritise workloads and work on own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Ability to communicate with Customers/Suppliers at all levels both internally and externally.
  • Good all round computer skills.

Work Environment

  • Primarily warehouse and office setting
  • May involve time monitoring operations and conducting site audits on and off site
  • Occasional travel to suppliers, AFC sites or customers as needs arise
