This is a full-time, on-site Quality Engineer role based in Birmingham. The Quality Engineer will oversee product and process quality across manufacturing operations, ensuring compliance with internal standards and customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining quality plans
- Conducting root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
- Performing audits
- Reviewing production data
- Collaborating with engineering and production teams
- Preparing quality documentation and reports for internal stakeholders and OEM customers
- Contributing to the implementation of best practices in quality tools, methods, and systems to enhance reliability and consistency
Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency in Quality Engineering and Product Quality in a manufacturing or automotive environment.
- Strong background in Quality Control and Quality Assurance, including inspection methods and test procedures.
- Experience with Quality Management systems, standards, and metrics (e.g., ISO/TS, IATF, KPIs).
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive quality improvements and problem resolution.
- Relevant technical degree or equivalent experience in engineering, manufacturing, or a related discipline.
- Familiarity with root cause analysis tools (e.g., 8D, FMEA, fishbone diagrams) and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and capability to interpret drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment.
